Sean was a Sergeant First Class who served 12 years on active duty before being medically retired after a parachuting accident in October, 2011. He served three tours in Afghanistan.
Sean and his wife, Suzy, have one daughter. Sean, a stay-at-home dad, benefited from adaptive sports therapy through the local VA. This therapy has helped disabled veterans, like Sean, to improve their physical well-being, mental health and self-esteem, which thereby enabled veterans with profound disabilities to re-discover life after disability.
Sean was one of two veterans Song4Soldiers sponsored for the 2015 National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic. By attending this week long clinic in Snowmass, Colorado, Sean was able to participate in activities he no longer thought possible and conquer challenges which gave him a renewed sense of pride at what he can accomplish in spite of his disabilities.
