Project Description

James is a veteran of the US Navy.  During his time in the service he was part of a rapid response security force serving in the Middle East.  While in the Middle East James was present for the Khobar Towers terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia.  On June 25, 1996, a truck bomb was detonated adjacent to Building #131, an eight-story structure housing United States Air Force personnel from the 4404th Wing, primarily from a deployed rescue squadron and deployed fighter squadron.  In all, 19 U.S. servicemen were killed and 498 were wounded.  While James was unharmed, he helped evacuate and care for the wounded and the dead.

James, a true inspiration for anyone who wants to better themselves and live a happy life, singlehandedly pulled himself out of the gutter and put himself on a true road to recovery.  While James suffered from depression and PTSD, his late service dog, Bianca, saved his life and gave him hope.  James chose not only to get another service dog, but was also inspired to help make his life’s work helping others do the same.

Songs4Soldiers was happy to pay for a security deposit ensuring that James would be in permanent housing.  We were also happy to help him get groceries and specialized dog food for Bianca while she was ill.  Songs4Soldiers will always consider James to be a true inspiration!
